Fire Response for McMechen
McMechen Volunteer Fire Department provides fire protection for the City of McMechen and supports neighboring departments through mutual aid. Our members respond when lives or property are threatened and work alongside other emergency services to bring incidents under control safely and efficiently.
Structure Fires
Response to residential, commercial, and other building fires, including fire attack, water supply, exposure protection, and incident support.
Vehicle Fires
Fire suppression and scene protection for passenger vehicles, commercial vehicles, and related roadway hazards.
Brush & Outside Fires
Response to vegetation, rubbish, utility, and other outdoor fires that may threaten nearby property or the community.
Fire Alarms & Investigations
Investigation of reported smoke, odors, alarm activations, electrical concerns, and other possible signs of fire.
Hazardous Conditions
Initial response, scene safety, hazard control, and coordination at hazardous-condition incidents within department training and capabilities.
Mutual Aid
Personnel, apparatus, and operational support for neighboring departments during fires and other major incidents.

Training, Teamwork and Readiness
Volunteer firefighters train to work as a coordinated team in dangerous, fast-changing conditions. Training and continuing education help members build the judgment, practical skills, and discipline required for emergency operations.
